Kevin stayed the night at my house last night, since we didn’t have to go to school today. We got up pretty late, around noon. My dad had told me that Zhanna had called. By this time, I had decided to forget about her, being that she had basically screwed me over twice, and I saw no reason to try for a third.

Around 12:30, Zhanna called again. I was watching the caller ID to see if it was her. But she was sneaky: she called from Cali’s boyfriend’s house. His being a number I did not know, I answered it. And much to my surprise, I found out it was her. She asked me if I would pick her up there so we could go out. I was excited. I told her I would be there at 2.

When I picked her up, I asked her where she wanted to go. I was on a limited budget, but I figured that I could manage. She said that she wanted coffee. So I took her to Coffee Connection. She wanted to pay for her coffee, but I wouldn’t let her. I think she appreciated this. But it really didn’t matter … I wanted to be nice.

We stayed there for a couple of hours talking. Now, I’m not the most tactful person in the world. When I need to be honest (sometimes, even if it’s hurtful), I am. Sometimes this works to my advantage, sometimes not. But whatever the case … during our conversation, the subject of relationships came up. She told me about her last boyfriend (who was 23), and I told her about my last girlfriend. And then, somehow (honestly, I don’t know how) the subject of her and I was raised. I said that she had been sending mixed signals toward me. And I told her honestly that I really, really like her and that I didn’t know how she felt about me. She said that she liked me. (Me = Excited!) Conversations about her home and family, as well as mine, followed. We left Coffee Connection around 5.

She said that she wanted to go look for shoes that she could wear to CMEA. We went to several stores looking for shoes. Personally, I didn’t find this too exciting. The only thing that made this worthwhile was the fact that I was spending time with her. While we were at Mervyns, Buffy called me. (I had called her while we were at Coffee Connection and Zhanna was in the bathroom) So we talked for a little bit, and then she talked to Zhanna. Zhanna had been looking at rings. And then she asked me to marry her. It was all kinda funny, although a little bit uncomfortable.

I finally took her home around 8. I had a lot of fun with her, and I hope this goes somewhere.
